August 8. On this date 1912, the Oakland California Enquirer noted "‘Abdul Bábai [sic] has millions of followers in the last few years. The latest work of art of Miss Campbell was drawn from life, and the leader of the new cult has pronounced it the finest likeness of himself ever produced."
