September 15. On this date in 1882, Khadíjih Bagum, one of the wives of the Báb, died in Shiraz. She died the same night as her slave Fiddih, who since the age of 7 had faithfully served her master, having been gifted to Khadíjih Bagum after being acquired by the Báb when she was no older than 7.

September 15.  On this date in 1882, Khadíjih Bagum, one of the wives of the Báb, died in Shiraz.  She died the same night as her slave Fiddih, who since the age of 7 had faithfully served her master, having been gifted to Khadíjih Bagum after being acquired by the Báb when she was no older than 7.

She was the niece of the Báb's maternal grandfather and had two brothers, Hají Mírzá Abu'l-Qasim and Hají Mírzá Siyyid Hasan, and one sister. The descendants of these two brothers-in-law of the Báb, along with the descendants of his maternal uncles are known as the Afnán.

In August 1842, the Báb and Khadíjih Bagum married, and had one son, Ahmad, who died in infancy in 1843.  After her husband's execution, she kept in correspondence with the Bábi community. 

Khadíjih Bagum eventually accepted Bahá'u'lláh's claims and became a Bahá'í.

When the Báb acquired a slave named Fiddih, who was no older than 7 years of age, he gifted her to Khadíjih Bagum. Fiddih served her master faithfully for the rest of her life and would die the same night as her master.

Khadíjih Bagum and Fiddih both died on September 15, 1882.
