On this date in 1955, Valíyu'lláh Varqá, who had accompanied ‘Abdu’l-Bahá during his visit to America in 1912 and had been appointed Trustee of the Ḥuqúqu'lláh in 1938 and a Hand of the Cause of God by Shoghi Effendi in 1951, died. His son 'Alí-Muḥammad Varqá, also a Hand of the Cause of God, would serve as Trustee of the Ḥuqúqu'lláh from 1955 until his death in 2007.
