May 11. On this date in 1913, 'Abdu'l-Bahá addressed a letter to Marie Wilson, regarding Bahá'í gatherings at Green Acre.
May 11, 1913 To the Maidservant of God. Miss Marie Wilson, Malden, Mass.
Upon her be Bahá'u'lláh el abha.
He is God! O thou severed Maidservant of Bahá'u'lláh! Your detailed letter was received, Praise be to God that it was an indication of thy firmness and steadfastness and a proof of the spirituality of your meetings and gatherings.
The days that I spent in thy house and engaged my time in summoning the people to the Kingdom of God were days of infinite joy and spirituality. They shall never be erased from the tablet of memory. Take care of that house because the light of the love of God was ignited in it. The Fragrances or the Kingdom of Abha, perfumed the nostrils. As thou art obliged, there is no harm done if thou desires to rent it.
Regarding the question of Green Acre, if a number of the Bahá'ís go there with the spirit of unity, and calling the people by day and by night to the Kingdom of Abha and giving the Glad-tidings to all the religions and sects, and live together with the utmost of good-fellowship and show towards each other love and unity, that it may set others to think and wonder - it is very praiseworthy. By this I mean that the presence of the friends in Green Acre may become the means of spreading the Divine Light!
Convey the wonderful Abha Greeting to all the believers and the Maidservants of the Merciful on my behalf, and rejoice them through the Glad-tidings of God.
Your meetings and assemblies, must be in the utmost state of spirituality, and those who are present in the greatest of enkindlement, so that their breathes may penetrate through the arteries and veins of the country.
Upon thee be Baha al Abha
(Signed) 'Abdu'l-Bahá Abbas
