July 7. On this date in 1954, Shoghi Effendi wrote to Cynthia Olson, who he had named a Knight of Bahá’u’lláh, telling her "that you have received this bounty of becoming a pioneer in a foreign land, to, under all circumstances, remain at your post, and never to become discouraged, but to rely on the power of Bahá'u'lláh, which is ready to guide and sustain you constantly in your service to His Faith. As you know, we have been promised in the Teachings that, if we arise in a befitting manner to teach the Cause of God, we will be assisted by the hosts of the Supreme Concourse."
