May 23. On this date in 1844, Mírzá Ḥusayn-'Alí Núrí (later named Bahá'u'lláh) and his first wife Ásíyih Khánum (later named Navváb or Ḥadrat-i-Varaqiyih-'Ulyá) had their first child, '‘Abbás (later named 'Abdu'l-Bahá). By the time of Shoghi Effendi's death, all of Bahá'u'lláh descendants from his first and subsequent wives would be declared Covenenat-breakers.
